After a fun weekend of sports, Monday seemed to be a bit of a boring night for us sports fans. Tonight though, is a different story. The NBA playoffs kick off their conference finals, with two teams Knicks fans can’t stand, the Pacers @ the Celtics. I hope they both lose, but if I had to bet it, and I did, I took the over, because I would never root for either team to win. Honestly, I probably won’t even watch the game. I’d rather watch the Mets, and we all know the outcome of their game before first pitch.
Alright, although I appreciate you allowing me to vent here, let’s get back on track. Before we get into today’s question, let’s breakdown yesterday’s trivia, about the last golfer to win multiple majors in the same year. In 2018, Brooks Kirkpatrick won the US Open and the PGA Championship, making him the 20th golfer to win multiple majors in one year. Jordan Spieth won the Masters and the US Open in 2015, and newly single Rory Mcllroy won the British Open and the PGA Championship in 2014.
Alright, it’s go time. Sunday provided us with a bit of history when two home teams lost game 7 on the same day. The Pacers defeated a depleted Knicks team, who ended up finishing Sundays game without any of their starting five that took the court back in October on the season opener. And the defending champs (Denver Nuggets), blew an astonishing 20 point lead in the third quarter, which lead to a decisive victory for the Timberwolves. This only happened in one other sport. Which begs me to ask this question…
What was the first sport where two home teams lost a game 7 on the same day?
0%NBA
0%NHL
0%MLB
As always, goodluck, and don’t forget, the answer to today’s question will be in tomorrow’s post.
